What aspects of being a girlfriend are not included in being a lover or friend?
Being or becoming fickle. Developing contempt. Having wandering eyes. Fear of long-term commitment, restlessness, dissatisfaction.
It’s rather paradoxical, because technically being a lover and a friend embodies that role of being a girlfriend. And if you’re being fickle or having contempt, then you’re not being a very good friend, are you? When I use the word lover I’m trying to connote affection, intimacy, sometimes sexual involvement, etc. There are many different kinds of love. I won’t name all of them but that is my application of the word lover.
